There are about 10,000 varieties of tomatoes in the world. There is a worldwide demand for them. These are used to flavor food.
Choose the right variety: There are two types of tomatoes: determinate and indeterminate. Determinate tomatoes grow to a certain height and produce fruit all at once, while indeterminate tomatoes grow continuously and produce fruit throughout the season. Choose the variety that suits your needs and space.
Start with good soil: Tomatoes need well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. You can use compost or manure to enrich the soil.
Plant in the right location: Tomatoes need full sun, so choose a spot that gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. If you live in a hot climate, consider planting them in a spot that gets some afternoon shade.
Plant at the right time: Tomatoes are warm-season plants and should be planted after the last frost date in your area. In Denver, Colorado, the last frost date is usually around May 15th.
Water regularly: Tomatoes need regular watering, especially during dry spells. Water deeply once a week, making sure the soil is moist but not waterlogged.
Fertilize: Tomatoes are heavy feeders and need regular fertilization. You can use a balanced fertilizer or one that is high in phosphorus to encourage fruiting.
Prune and support: Prune your tomato plants to remove suckers and promote air circulation. Use stakes or cages to support the plants as they grow.

- තක්කාලි සදහා පස තෝරා ගැනීමේදී pH අගය 6.2 සිට 6.8 දක්වා ගුණාත්මක වේ( pH අගය කෘෂි සේවා ආයතන වලින් පරීක්ෂා කර ගත හැකි වේ ) . මේ සදහා කොම්පෝස්ට් පස සුදුසු වේ.
- තක්කාලි පැල වල කද ශක්තිමත්ව සෑදීමට හුලඟ සහිත ස්තානයක සිටුවීම සුදුසුය.
- ඔබ භාජනයක/කිසියම් දේක සිටවූ තක්කාලි බීජ සදහා එහි ප්‍රත්‍ර 3/4 එනතුරු මද වශයෙන් ජලය ස්වල්ප වශයෙන් එක් කරන්න.
- දින කීපයකින් බීජ පැල වූ පසු එහි ප්‍රත්‍ර 4 ක් පමණ පැමිණි පසු බුරුල් කල පසක යම්තාක් ගැබුරකට තක්කාලි පැල සිටුවන්න.
- ඉන්ප්සු සෑම සතියකටම වරක් පැල සදහා ජලය ගැබුරටම උණන තෙක් ජලය දමන්න.ජලය නිසි පාලනයකින් යුතුව දැමිය යුතු වේ. ජලය දැමීම භූමියේ තෙත ගතිය අනුව වෙනස් වේ.
- තක්කාලි වගාව වටේට පිඳුරු වැනි දෑ දමා වල් පැල සෑදීම වළක්වා ගත හැකිය.තක්කාලි පැල වල අතු සවිමත් නැති නිසා ඒ සදහා උදව් කිරීමට සිදුවේ.ඒ සදහා ආදාරකයක් සපයන්න.
- වැඩී ඇති තක්කාලි පැලවල කහ ගැන්වුන අතු කපා ඉවතලිය යුතුය. ඒ වගේම අතු බෙදෙන ස්තානවල හටගන්නා අලුත් කොල කපා දැමිය යුතුය.
